Not every fence is built to secure a property, and not every property needs the same level of security. Before signing a contract, it's worth matching the fence type to what you're actually trying to protect.
Security Fencing vs. Boundary Fencing
A split-rail fence marks a property line beautifully but won't stop foot traffic or contain a pet. If security is the goal, iron fencing, tall privacy wood, or chain link with a locking gate does the job. If the goal is simply defining a boundary, a lighter fence style saves money without sacrificing what you actually need.
Matching Fence Height and Material to Risk
Commercial lots and job sites usually need fencing tall enough and rigid enough to deter climbing, paired with a lockable gate for controlled access. Residential properties often need less height but more privacy, which points toward a wood or vinyl privacy fence instead.
Farm and ranch properties have a different security question entirely: keeping livestock in and predators out, which calls for field fence, non-climb fence, or pipe fencing rather than a decorative option.
A Walkthrough Before You Sign
We walk every property before quoting so the fence we recommend actually matches the risk, whether that's trespassers, escaping livestock, or just curious neighbors. That walkthrough is free and comes with a written estimate.
